There are many organizations in the State that provide counseling and training to small business owners including the Hartford SCORE chapter which presents a monthly workshop on Business Basics. Attorney Judy Gedge provides legal tips at the SCORE monthly workshop.

- Tax Matters - An introduction to the requirements of small business record keeping and tax filing.
- Tax and Accounting Aspects - This session covers budgets, cash flow, accounting and taxes

CT SMALL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CENTER
CSBDC provides business counseling and workshops to small businesses and start-ups at no charge. Offices are located around the state. The CSBDC has recently re-located to Central Connecticut State University. www.ccsu.edu
THE ENTREPRENEURIAL CENTER (HARTFORD COLLEGE FOR WOMEN)
The Entrepreneurial Center provides a variety of programs and resources to small business owners and budding entrepreneurs. The Center runs a 16 week Comprehensive Small Business Training Course. The Center is located at 50 Elizabeth Street, Hartford, CT (860-768-5681) www.entrepreneurialctr.org
STATE OF CONNECTICUT LICENSING INFO CENTER (CT-CLIC)
CT-CLIC streamlines the business licensing/registration process and provides personalized customer service. CT-CLIC is comprised of an online self-service approach through a website www.CT-CLIC.com and through a customer assistance full-service approach through the Smart Start business registry program. Many public libraries provide resources for small businesses including access to computers, business reference materials and magazines as well as business workshops.
